First Impressions of the SwingNet Pro

The SwingNet Pro was delivered in two packages. It came in a box for the frame, net, and storage bag. The large mat was rolled up and shrink-wrapped. One tip is to unroll the mat and lay it flat right away as it took a bit of time to flatten out during our review. The sheer size and heft were immediately impressive. It's clear that this isn't just any golf net; it's a substantial piece of equipment designed to enhance any golfer's practice routine.

Large and Sturdy Design

The SwingNet Pro boasts a professional-grade build, using high-quality woven polyester netting that's UV treated to withstand various weather conditions. The pre-attached side barrier netting adds an extra layer of security, ensuring that even the most errant shots are safely contained. In our testing, the side-netting came into play right away, saving us from a ricochet off the garage wall.

This net offers ample space, allowing me to comfortably use all my clubs, from the driver to wedges. It's designed to be accommodating in both indoor and outdoor settings, making it incredibly versatile. Whether set up in my garage, backyard, or even a spacious room inside the house, the SwingNet Pro fits perfectly, providing a practice area that feels professional and expansive.
SwingNet Pro Robust Hitting Mat

Robust Hitting Mat

Accompanying the net, the SwingTurf Golf Mat is a standout feature. It mimics the feel of real grass remarkably well, allowing for a true down-and-through swing motion. It also takes a real tee. Having hit off many mats, this was one of the better ones for me. It had a nice cushion on shots, but also let me know when I hit a shot fat.

From the moment I set up the SwingNet Pro, I was impressed with the thoughtful design, ample size, and robust mat.

Easy Assembly Process

Setting up the SwingNet Pro was surprisingly straightforward and hassle-free, thanks to its tool-free setup and easy-to-follow instructions. I appreciated how each component was clearly labeled and matched the detailed steps in the manual. The illustrations were clear, making it simple to identify the correct pieces and how they fit together. We took a video of the setup which can be seen here (link to video once we load it).

SwingNet Pro Setup

Tool-Free Setup and Easy to Follow Instructions

The assembly of the SwingNet Pro is designed to be quick and efficient, requiring no additional tools. This feature is particularly beneficial as it saves time and avoids the frustration of searching for suitable tools. The push-button frame snaps into place with minimal effort, and the entire setup can be completed swiftly. The pieces are clearly marked and the instructions were easy to follow.

SwingNet Pro Assembly

Assembly Time

From unpacking to fully assembling the SwingNet Pro, the process took me just about ten minutes to complete by myself. I am thankful it didn't take any longer as it was almost 100 degrees in my garage. I'd recommend you get a second person help attach the top frame to the bottom frame. While you can do it by yourself, it is a bit awkward to do solo.

SwingNet Pro Portability

Once assembled, the SwingNet Pro can be easily moved and adjusted within different spaces, whether it’s in a garage, a backyard, or indoors. Having to feed the frame through the sleeve for storage means I'd likely enlist a second person to move it to a new location versus taking it apart. The carry bag and its lightweight design enhances its portability, allowing me to store it compactly or take it on the go without any hassle if I couldn't just move it in one piece.

The ease of assembly and the practical design of the SwingNet Pro make it an excellent choice for golfers who value efficiency and flexibility in their practice setups.

Generous Hitting Area

The SwingNet Pro offers a spacious and secure environment for golfers to practice a wide range of shots, from powerful drives to high-loft wedges. Its generous dimensions ensure that even the most robust swings have plenty of room.

SwingNet Pro Size

Net Size and Coverage

The SwingNet Pro provides ample space to accommodate all types of golf shots and is seven feet across and just over seven feet tall. This size is complemented by heavy-duty netting sewn into a robust canvas sleeve that wraps securely around the frame, ensuring that every shot stays contained within the practice area.

Because of the generous size, I never worried about a ball missing the net. I even hit a 60-degree lob wedge without any concern of it going over the net.

Side Extenders

To enhance safety, side extenders add approximately six feet of additional netting on each side. These extenders are crucial for catching off-target shots, providing peace of mind, and allowing you to focus solely on improving your game without the worry of damaging your surroundings.

These provide peace of mind. As I mentioned, the side extenders saw some action in our testing. We were thankful they were part of the kit.

Safety Features

The SwingNet Pro is designed with top-tier safety in mind. The netting is connected to the bottom of the frame, which prevents low shots from escaping underneath. Additionally, the entire system is UV resistant and rustproof, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Pre-attached side barrier netting and the option to secure the net with stakes or sandbags in windy conditions further enhance its stability and safety. We found that putting 3 plastic water bottles in the side net anchors was as effective as sand and saved us some time and mess.

This generous hitting area, combined with its robust safety features, makes the SwingNet Pro an ideal choice for golfers looking to practice confidently and comfortably at home.

Durable Construction

The SwingNet Pro is built to endure, crafted from materials designed to withstand both the rigors of intense practice sessions and the elements of nature. Here's a closer look at its robust construction:

SwingNet Pro Metal Frame

Frame Material

The frame of the SwingNet Pro is constructed using high-quality aluminum, renowned for its strength and resistance to rust. This makes it ideal for both indoor and outdoor use, ensuring longevity and durability. The push-button assembly feature not only simplifies the setup process but also contributes to the overall sturdiness of the frame.

Netting Quality

Our net is crafted from UV-treated, high-quality woven polyester, which is capable of handling ball speeds up to 200 mph. This exceptional durability ensures that the net can absorb and disperse the ball's impact efficiently, making it suitable for both amateur and professional golfers. The robust canvas sleeve that encases the netting enhances its durability and ensures that it remains securely attached to the frame.

SwingNet Pro Sleeves

Sleeve Attaches Net to Frame Securely

The design of the SwingNet Pro includes a sleeve that slides over the frame, ensuring that the net is evenly distributed and securely attached. This feature prevents the net from sagging or coming loose, crucial for maintaining safety and effectiveness during practice. The secure attachment also aids in the easy assembly and disassembly of the net, facilitating convenient storage and portability.

Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the SwingNet Pro's durable construction is evident in every component, from the aluminum frame to the high-quality netting. This durability ensures that golfers can practice confidently, focusing solely on improving their game without concerns about wear and tear.

Versatility for Different Clubs

One of the standout features of the SwingNet Pro is its remarkable versatility, accommodating a wide range of clubs from drivers through to wedges. This makes it an ideal solution for golfers who wish to practice their complete arsenal of shots, enhancing both their skills and confidence.

Compatibility with Drivers

When it comes to practicing with drivers, the SwingNet Pro excels in providing both safety and functionality. The mat allows you to use a real tee, which is idea for hitting a driver. The net is designed to safely stop balls traveling at high speeds—up to 200 mph—without requiring excessive space behind the unit. This means I can confidently place the unit close to a wall without the need for additional "breaking distance," ensuring that even the most powerful drives are securely captured by the net’s robust construction.

SwingNet Pro hitting Irons and Wedges

Use with Irons and Wedges

The SwingNet Pro also shines when practicing with irons and wedges. The SwingTurf Golf Hitting Mat, part of the SwingNet Pro setup, is tailored to simulate the feel of real fairway turf. This provides a realistic feedback mechanism on swing mechanics, making it an excellent practice surface for all types of clubs, although it is particularly adept for irons and wedges. As I mentioned above, I even hit a 60-degree wedge and did not worry about it going over the top of the net.

This combination of a reliable net and a high-quality mat ensures that every practice session is as productive as possible, regardless of the club in hand. The SwingNet Pro’s ability to accommodate everything from powerful drivers to precise wedges, coupled with its safety features and high-quality materials, makes it an exceptional choice for golfers looking to enhance their game at home.

Net Portability and Storage

The SwingNet Pro is not only a robust choice for golf practice but also excels in its portability and ease of storage. Here’s how it simplifies life for golfers who need flexible setup options:

Breakdown Process
The assembly of the SwingNet Pro is remarkably straightforward, thanks to its tool-free, push-button frame. What's even more impressive is how quickly I can disassemble it. The entire breakdown process takes just a couple of minutes, and I can do it by myself. That said, I would likely avoid taking the frame out of the sleeve unless I really needed to store it.

Carrying Case
Once disassembled, the SwingNet Pro fits neatly into a durable duffel bag. This bag is sturdy and compact, making it easy for me to store the net or take it along for off-site practice sessions. The simplicity of the pop-up design ensures that setting up or packing away is hassle-free, whether indoors or outdoors.

Storage Footprint
When it comes to storage, the SwingNet Pro is a real space-saver. It can be folded into a small size, allowing for convenient storage in a garage, closet, or car trunk. This makes it an excellent option for golfers who might not have a permanent space for practice or for those who prefer a tidy and uncluttered home environment.

With these features, the SwingNet Pro stands out as an ideal solution for golfers looking for a high-quality golf net that combines durability with exceptional portability and ease of storage.
High quality golf net

Conclusion

Overall, this is the best net and mat combo I have tested. I had a lot of fun hitting various clubs into the net. One suggestion I would make is to get the 4x9 mat or get some landing turf to go in front of the mat. I did have some bounce back on a few balls hitting the concrete floor that I had to chase down.
